What does Mercury Retrograde mean?

Mercury Retrograde refers to the period of time that Mercury APPEARS to be spinning backwards (retrograde motion). This is an illusion caused by the position of the Earth in relation to the planet. Afterall, a planet in orbit always travels in one set direction and can’t suddenly just reverse course!

Because Mercury completes its orbit around the sun about every 88 days, Mercury goes retrograde three or four times in a calendar year, for about three weeks at a time.

Why is there so much fear around Mercury Retrograde?

You can ignore all the fear mongering and anyone that says, “Oh, no – Mercury is about to retrograde again!” We need to take ownership of what goes wrong in our lives rather than blaming it on something out of our control, which isn't at fault in the first place!

Flip the script! Focus on Mercury Retrograde with a growth-minded mindset and you'll receive benefit from it. Remember, Mercury Retrograde is here to HELP us, not harm us.

No one wants to live their life knowing that each time Mercury goes retrograde, they should be prepared for sh*t to hit the fan. 🙄 If tomorrow was our last day on this earth, we shouldn’t be spending today in fear of things like a flight being cancelled or a computer breaking down because of Mercury Retrograde.

Instead, it’s a time to be aware, not beware! When Mercury goes retrograde, take that time to really slow down - maybe methodically go back over any projects you’ve been working on. Mercury Retrograde is also a great period of time for self-reflection! Are there any areas that you need to set better boundaries? How can you become a better listener and communicator? Has your way of communicating with the world benefited you, or does something need to change?

Bottom line is, please ignore the doom and gloom around Mercury Retrograde! Instead, let’s find the GOOD in this time, be grateful for it, and use it to our advantage! ❤️
